I embraced Christianity almost five years ago, and have taken my faith very seriously ever since. Since that time, I have also turned my back on my Lutheran upbringing. The spiritual health of the churches I grew up in were poor, at best.
Over the last few years, I have really enjoyed listening to Talk the Walk with Todd Friel on KKMS (980AM in the Twin Cities) over the last few years. I was introduced to it by my brother. Todd had a very interesting segment about the ELCA and Homosexuality recently that he posted on his website. It made me all the more confortable with my decision to leave the ELCA in my persuit of God. They seem to be just a few steps behind the American Episcopalian Church in regards to interpretting scripture in a way that suits their own feelings. I’m one that believes that the Bible was written by God, who says what He means and means what He says. As the ELCA moves further to the Left, they will move further from me. I doubt I will even go to ELCA churches on holidays with my family.
