As I posted last Monday, I have been working on server upgrades for the last week, moving to a new hard drive, and a newer version of Debian (Linux).
Over the weekend I got the meat of the upgrade completed. This blog is moved to and running off of the new system.
If you tried to access this blog while I was working on the machine it resides on, you probably found a message informing you that maintenance was in progress and a request to try back later. You may not have seen the end of that message, but it will be a much more rare site from now on.
I am liking Debian Sarge a lot. There are a few features in KDE that seem to have disappeared from versions 3.1 to 3.3 though. That and a few minor kinks made the process less than perfect, but it got done nonetheless.
I’m always thinking about what my next computer project might be. I enjoy building computers and tinkering with software. My wife and I have been talking since before we got engaged about building an arcade machine that runs on MAME. That very well might be my next project. The only thing keeping us from doing it at this time is other projects around the house that never seem to get completed. She bought the house a few months before we met and has been working on removing old wallpaper ever since.
So that’s where that is. It certainly is nice to have the worst of the work done on this upgrade.
