Yesterday I was thinking about a few Podcasts that I enjoy. I thought how cool it is that they don’t (yet) have ads on them. I realized that Podcasts, and the newer up-and-coming video equivalent are pretty cool, but will probably be commercialized pretty quickly. I’d be surprised if the more popular Podcasts and Vidcasts (or whatever they’re calling them) didn’t have commercials in them within the next year or two.
That was yesterday.
Today I started listening to the daily Slashdot Review Podcast and, for the first time on that Podcast, encountered a commercial.
It’s kind of sad, but there really is no way to stop it. At least the smaller indy casts will always be commercial-free, but then there’s a reason their small.
