I just got back from the Minnesota Organization of Bloggers “Summerpalooza” party. I was amazed at Mitch Berg’s (shotinthedark.info) ability to remember who everyone was and what blog they are with. He brought me around and introduced me to everyone. Seems my spot at the top of the MOB Blogroll – due to the Greek title – has made me much more well known than I expected.
The crazy thing was that we were there for a couple hours, but ended up spending most of the time talking to a couple guys that were just hanging out there. They didn’t even know what a blog is. I was glad that I could check in with the bloggers before we had to go though. Next time I’ll at least know where to start!
I was really hoping beforehand that I would get the chance to share the Gospel with someone. I am trying to get much better at doing that. I gave it a shot with the non-bloggers that we (my wife and I) talked to for most of the night, but they weren’t real open to it. Oh well, I gave it a shot. I did get to share a little with the guy who charged me for parking. He said he’s a Christian, so he was very open to it, but I didn’t assume he had the whole story – better safe than sorry. We had to cut it short because there were a bunch of cars lining up behind us wanting to get out and we were in their way.
If you want to talk about Jesus with people, but don’t know how to bring it up, get your hands on some million dollar bills. Seriously, people love these things, and will beg you to keep it (um yeah, that’s the point). People aren’t always open to the Gospel, but this is a great way to bring it up and see if they are willing to talk about it.
