“I wanna say that that [sic] Jesus told us that we would be judged by how we treat the least among us, and we shouldn’t really maybe call this ‘Socialized Medicine’; we should call it ‘Christianized Medicine’.” – Michael Moore on “The View” (Courtesy of Way of the Master Radio).
What an ignoramus!! It’s bad enough that this guy takes it upon himself to tell the world that Christians are stupid, but then to have the arrogance to make himself a Bible scholar to boot. Little bothers me about pagans more than when they rip on the Bible and Christians out of one side of their mouth and then give sermons on passages of the Bible that they think somehow got missed by Christians out the other side of their mouth.
Do Christians want everyone to be taken care of? Absolutely! Does that include medical care when it is needed? Absolutely. Does that mean that we advocate using the force of government to take money from some people – by force if necessary – in order to pay for health care for other people? Absolutely not!!! That was covered in the 8th Commandment: “though shalt not steal.” Hiring a politician to do your stealing makes you no less of a thief. Espousing a Robin Hood morality that encourages stealing from “the rich” and giving to the poor makes you no less of a thief.
Actually, Christian health care is what has been practiced for all of recent memory. Take a look at the list of hospitals in your local phone book. I bet you’ll find names like “St. Mary’s”, “Methodist Hospital,” and “Mercy Hospital.” The majority of hospitals in America are non-profit organizations and were started by Churches. If you need life-saving care, these hospitals will provide it. And they won’t send a government agent to my house to arrest me (and possibly kill me if I resist) if I refuse to pay for your care.
Sorry Michael Moore, show us the fruit of repentance and faith in Jesus as Savior. Until then, keep your big mouth shut about what you think Christianity is and does.
