I just learned yesterday morning that I was elected as a full delegate to the Congressional District Convention as well as State of Minnesota Republican Convention.
By my count, 5 of the 24 delegates to State from my district are Ron Paul supporters, as well as 14 of the 48 alternates. For the Congressional, 10 of 46 delegates are Paul Supporters and 7 of 46 alternates are too. For a guy who polled so low in the Straw Poll, and wasn’t credited with any delegates to National, I’d say he’s doing very well. I think his own estimate of 9 of 41 delegates is probably closer to what will really be the case.
The chances of going on from either to the National Convention in September are so slim that I will probably not pursue it. As I understand it, only 3 or 4 people will be going on from Congressional and only 8 or so will be going on from State. However, I am still eager to go to both so that I can support Ron Paul’s campaign and vote for a delegate that will vote for him in St. Paul this fall.
