Today has been a typical Saturday so far. I worked at the Post Office. It took about 8½ hours to get done, and was relatively uneventful. I did come across something that made me decide that my next cell phone has to have a camera in it. One of the houses on the route had a sprinkler going in the front yard. There was a circle in the lawn that was about 30 feet in diameter and was covered in icicles. I just had to stop and laugh. On the way back sown the street, I met a lady who was out to check the mail and saw me coming, so she waited. I asked her about this guy and she said he’s trying to make the water level on his pond go down with the sprinkler pump. She said he’s been running that sprinkler for about two weeks. I guess I didn’t notice it before because it wasn’t cold enough to freeze the water. I almost wish I worked again tomorrow so I could get a picture. Tomorrow being Sunday, I am glad I don’t work though.
Cousin Sal did it again. Well, he hasn’t had a chance to be right yet, but he picked the Packers to win against the Vikes tomorrow night as his upset special. This guy’s really getting on my nerves. Why pick the same team two weeks in a row to be beaten in an upset?
I’ve had a night to ponder my new job. I’ve started looking on the net for apartments, and have come across a couple that are close to the office that are nice, and should be comfortably in my price range. I am giving myself until around Christmas to think about it, but I’m not sure if I want to go with a smaller, cheaper apartment and save for a down payment on a house, or go with a nicer place with a little more room and take a little longer to save. While I would like to be a homeowner, I’m not necessarily in a hurry. As long as I’m single, it’s not as high of a priority to me as if I were married or engaged. Who knows, maybe I’ll meet, fall in love, and marry someone who has a house. Right now I’m leaning slightly towards the bigger place. After 5 years in college apartments, either really small or shared, and then 2½ years in a 16×10 bedroom in my parents’ house, I am ready to break loose and have some space.
Not much else on my mind right now. Until next time….
