I’m not a fan of Linda Ronstadt, and couldn’t name two of her songs, but this doesn’t surprise me. I haven’t been to a concert by a secular band/artist in four years or so, and this is one of many reasons why. The last thing I want to do is drop $40/ticket to listen to why I’m evil because I don’t support [insert leftist name or cause here]. I’ve been to a few concerts in the last few years by Christian bands and love that politics doesn’t get talked about and if it does, most people there completely agree with the views expressed.
I applaud Aladdin for basically kicking her out. When you’re in a venue like Las Vegas, you’ve got people of all stripes coming from all over the world, and the chances you’re going to start trouble with leftist speak are pretty high.
Why can’t these people just shut up and sing? Most people, I think, are like me. They pay money for concert tickets because they like the music, not because they agree with the singer’s political views. If that were the case, I’d be broke from going to too many country music concerts (I am no fan of country music).
