With not much to do at work right now, I decided to do some updating. I went through the “General” category archives and changed most of the posts to other categories. I had something north of 150 entries labeled as “General” before I started, and now I’m down to only seven. Most are now in “My Life”, but others moved to “My Blog”, “Other Blogs”, and categories that exist now, but didn’t when I wrote earlier posts.
I like that Movable Type allows categories. Not that I’m nearly as interesting as many of the blogs that I read, but they help a lot when a reader wants to go back and read only specific posts of a given topic. I wish, for instance, that Vox Popoli had category archives, but that’s not a feature available on Blogger. The Evangelical Outpost is a Movable Type blog, and I like that I can read through his archives sorted by topic, and avoid topics that don’t interest me.
Now if there were only sub-categories on Movable Type, which I understand WordPress has.
