I’m posting this partially as a complaint, but also as a tip. I found out that an image I have on my site (that does not fall under the creative commons license I instituted) was being leached by another blog. Blogger, it seems, doesn’t allow you to upload photos to put on your blog, but you can add images that are hosted elsewhere to your posts. Someone just had the html pull the picture on their blog from my server, which runs on a cable modem with a bandwidth limit of 256k upstream.
So, to get over that, I suggest to all you Blogger users, and those who don’t have the space or bandwidth to host images on your blog server, to use a service like Photobucket. They allow you to store up to 25 MB on their server for the purpose of posting images on your blog or eBay auction. I am considering moving to that myself simply to relieve the bandwidth pressure from my server. The only down side, as I see it is that it tends to take longer to load a page when you’re pulling things from all over the internet. Simply having an alliance blogroll and a truthlaidbear ecosystem ranking tends to increase loading time. Add pictures and another server and you only add to the problem, but I think it is probably worth it.
What kind of bandwidth are you chewing up? Email me.. Maybe I can help.
Blogger will host pictures if you use Hello! to upload them. It’s a bit cumbersome, but it works.
