I joined the Minnesota Organization of Blogs today. It’s still VERY loose-nit, and there was no central blogroll at all. I decided to go to the effort of creating one. I don’t have any ambitions to be the keeper of the code though, so as soon as I find out who is more-or-less in charge, or the creator of the organization, I will pass off the username and password to the blogrolling.com account so they can maintain their rightful position of Organizational President (or whatever you’d call them)
Anyway, here is the code, for those in the organization who would like to add it to their site and not worry about keeping up with who is the latest addition:
<script language=”javascript” type=”text/javascript”
src=”http://rpc.blogrolling.com/display.php?r=88370d263e9f366ef8fe8ef6dd3669f0″></script>
Note: If you can’t get all the code because it goes off the page, click here for a version that is much easier to copy/paste.
Update: I no longer have access to the blogroll. The keys have been passed to Chad the Elder at Fraters Libertas.
I guess we can consider you a mobster now, eh? 😉
I think the rightful title is “Consigliori.” Welcome to the MOB. I recently wrote about zoe in a couple of posts in my series on Watchman Nee’s “The Spiritual Man,” so your cool blog title caught my attention.
Thanks! Do you know who the “Consigliori” is?
The MOB is intentionally ill-defined. Your list and code are cool, provided you don’t attempt to claim they comprise any “official” list. All attempts at trying to make sense of this without such claims are welcome.
I have no desire to be the keeper of any “official” list. I just thought the MOB was cool, and thought it needed something easier than every member creating their own list. I’d rather not be this unofficial list’s “keeper”, but if no one else steps up to the plate, I will do the work of adding people as they email me.
I am still learning about the MOB. It has helped to learn that it seems to be a bunch of people from Minnesota with each other on their blogrolls and nothing really more.
You got it. The group literally started as a social gathering of some local bloggers – the brain-child of Mitch Berg if I recall correctly. I’d venture a guess there’s no one who even knows the names of all the blogs that are part of it now. For that, your code is cool.
Correction: The MOB was the brainchild of Saint Paul from Fraters Libertas and. in conjuction with the Northern Alliance, we have become the keepers of the roll. All additions to the roll should be passed through us. There are a few blogs listed which have not been previously approved and will have to reapply for membership.
Should we link Derek’s MOB graphic to Fraters Libertas, perhaps to a permalink to a post about the history of the MOB?
